Quite a contrast to spend a couple of days in Seattle feeling all urbane at art galleries and coffee houses and then to come home and spend a couple of days doing farm labor and getting muddy and pummeled by hail (and loving it!!) And then tomorrow back to work. I like my life!

No time to post. Gotta go rogue (my other job! pulling rye from wheat. Lots of walking and fresh air. And occasional heat, hail, etc.)

Had a good time in Seattle. At the baseball game, we sat back by Ichiro. We saw an interesting building; I took a picture on a funny angle. And here's my advice of the week: no matter how good your lock is, don't leave your bicycle unattended for too long in the city!

It was nice having Martha home. I'm glad she's got a good, fun job this summer; it would be hard to do without her if it didn't seem like such a great opportunity. And Gene comes home in just 4 days!!

Just a quick post. Here's a pic of Martha driving on a HOT day and our post-pedicure feet! More news later.

It is that beautiful flowery time of year again... I take my camera with me now when I go out and about; you never know when an unusually pretty flower might jump right out at you.

Today is going to be a VERY busy day for me....hopefully "fun busy". Martha flies today and will be here tonight at 10! Adrienne (second/almost daughter) came home yesterday and that was good. Pat second/almost son) came over last night and that was good. But having Martha home will be GREAT! Gene is working away at school; he doesn't come home until the 26th. Wonder if Emi (Japanese exchange daughter) will ever return. sigh.

Stephanie is learning to drive. She is a good driver. Sometimes she sticks her tongue out to help her concentrate.

Elizabeth gave Addy a bath and a haircut. She is a good mama. Addy is lucky.

Some of you don't know these beautiful girls/dog. I am their teacher (sort of) and their honorary grandma!

School was GOOD today! I was crabby =0( at the art classes because it was too hard to get last weeks absent people caught up and keep the others all busy and thinking at the same time and then some were missing because of tests and so next week we'll be all over the place, too. But the paintings are going to be good eventually and then I won't have to be crabby anymore! =0) My eating class was really fun! and tasty! And I broke 100 in bowling; that's success!

For some reason, yesterday was cold. We hiked with some friends and saw lots of chilly wild flowers and some nice views. The company was good and the air was fresh!

Well... yesterday, while looking for a shady hat to wear on a walk to the library, I discovered mice in my garage. Ugh. Not a good thing. So today I cleaned and cleaned and cleaned the garage. I am pretty sure there is nothing left in there to attract mice.... I threw out the big box of bird seed that they were munching on (sorry, birds.)....and the straw hats that they were busily shredding for bedding. The mice were very quick; I didn't get a picture so I imported this one of mice living it up in my garage! ;0)

I'm going to try to update this blog every day or two, even when I "don't have time" and/or "don't have anything to say." Won't that be fascinating? Today I am going to wash the kitchen floor and then ride my bike to Fruitland and later plant some jerusalem artichokes in my garden. If I get ambitious I might plant up some flower pots with flowers and herbs. This picture is of some pretty flowers I enjoyed in McMinnville last weekend.
