Dave and I went to Central on Friday. We had lunch with Gene and Yusuke. When they went off to afternoon classes, we went shopping (much to Dave's delight). Maybe Gene will blog about the bounty we lavished upon him..... he is the proud owner (but not-yet-user) of a shiny new vacuum. I didn't take a picture, but I do have a pic of Gene vacuuming, so I will add it here.

I think this might turn out to be my favorite class of all time! Look at those intelligent, hardworking girls and boys! And they're actually just working on their own so I can wander around the room drinking my tea and taking pictures!

Here I am on the first day of school with my pretty, new school shoes and here is my clean desk....( it's still clean on the 3rd day of school! ) Today I'll take a picture with some of those pesky students in it...so that you can get the real picture.

Well, as I post, Mar is sitting on a plane somewhere over the Atlantic (Dave could probably tell you exactly where, as he tracks flights online). She will arrive in Edinburgh sometime around midnight our time. I am even more jealous than my usual travel jealousy.... I feel like flying away. I would like to be young and carefree, but I feel very earthbound and just a little careworn... even though it is my sister who is carrying the cares for the family. Maybe I will be able to spend much time with mom when school gets going and settled. My Aunt Vivian died and my cousin Betsy and one of my friends from work just lost her dad after a long illness. =0( And I have a ton of emails and letters to write and I don't manage to do a bit! ugh! If you're waiting for correspondence from me, hang in there! maybe tomorrow!
