Mom has a carrion plant. The blooms open dramatically quickly and last just one day. They smell like (guess what?) carrion and they attract flies but they look pretty!

Here's an updated look at our new school site. Two of the three portables have been moved
in and so all that needs to be done is foundation, wiring, plumbing, floors, fixtures, etc. And then, of course, there's the moving- in. Exciting, but it makes me tired just to think of it!

Here's a thank-you post to my friend, Betty, who gave me this great bag for my birthday. I would rather have posted a picture of Betty and MaryJo taken at our birthday lunch, but I didn't take any of them! Hey, guys, did you know that the purse is reversible? Thanks to you both for being such loyal celebrants. xoxo.

Here's our "Sorry" bunch on our recent luxury vacation in Thorpe. Gene was away taking his GRE. (that stands for Gene's Reassurance of Excellence!)

Martha left this morning. I am somewhat sad... but always happy and proud for her, too. Isn't this a great picture of her and Adrienne (especially considering it was taken at 5:15 a.m.)?

Martha and I took our bikes to Richland today to ride in the park. We rode until the sign said to go back. Very pretty day, nice ride.

The plays, the weather, the park, the food and the shopping are all great. We have to go home tomorrow.... and although I'll be glad to be home, I'll miss this good time place.

We hung out with some interesting types at the Douglas Co. Fair. Do you recognize any of these? We're in Ashland now.... I've taken a few pictures but left my cable at home for dumping from camera to computer... that's solvable, I think. I would have liked to take pictures at the play last night (Two Gentlemen) but I didn't want to risk the wrath of the authorities (Martha, Dave, Gene!). I might try to sneak a shot or two tonight. We're seeing Merry Wives and the costumes are going to be sensational!! Time for a walk in the park. I'll take my camera; sometimes there are nude sunbathers!

ooh. these pix are kinda big. we are in oregon now, went to the fair with our fun, fine, friendly, fair friends. More fotos later. We're on our way to ashland to see the plays and to have a gooooood time.

Martha made a delicious pie. Blackberry/apricot/rhubarb. Too bad those are ingredients she doesn't even like. Oh, well... I'll have to eat it for her!

I went into work for a bit yesterday... haven't been down there for a while. Looks like they're starting work on our new classrooms. I wonder where my room will be.... or, maybe I'm more curious about when my room will be.... looks like they've got a ways to go. I think they can go pretty fast at these things, though, so that's exciting!
