Thanksgiving weekend started with a drive to Seattle and a birthday party for Gene. Yes, he's older and wiser. The party was sparsely attended, but we still have a little cake leftovers if you want to help celebrate.

Well, I got up today and brought in the paper and then checked my emails and then I read Sandra's comment on my last post about the snow. So I went to see why we didn't have any snow... and lo and behold! Sandra is the snow maker!

My new classroom is starting to take shape. I now have hope that I'll be unpacked sometime before the end of the year! yay! In fact, I could do class in there on Monday... but I guess I'm glad I
don't have to. I'd like to take my time to sort and purge while I'm at it.

I had a nice lunch with Dora and Leslie on Friday. And I saw some old friends at Virginia's baby shower on Saturday. Well, some old friends and some young friends. hehe. Today is Sunday, and I actually went to the mall to attempt a little shopping.... I'm hopeless at it though. I did get a present for Gene.... his golden birthday is coming up this week!
Hmm. Wish I'd taken a "before" picture of the roses up higher than the eaves... but maybe you can get an idea from the piles of my pruning efforts. Now I ought to winterize them.

I sort of hate to admit it, with all the rain that's been happening around the state, but we've been having some pretty splendid weather. I have one beautiful view after the other as I pedal around my autumn world. So.... I've been having some of those counting-my-blessings kind of days. Today I went into work; we're going to move soon to new classrooms, so it's fun to try to decide what I want and where I want it. I am going to be so organized when we finally move! That's my vow. These pictures were taken en route to and at my art class. Nice, eh? I think I'll go soak, now. I did more pedaling today than usual.... gotta ease my bones.

Wonder when we're going to move into our new classrooms. hmm. I am partly excited and partly sad. I will miss my old room... with the big windows and the beautiful trees. sigh. Look at the great (not!) window in my new room. pout. And since I took this picture, they've put up some kind of prison grate over the little thing. I guess the idea is to keep miscreants from breaking in... but it shades out some of the miniscule amount of natural light I was getting. mope.
